MS Defender 'removed' Win32:Patched-AWK[trj] from my PC, however, I seem to still be experiencing browser locks and multiple ad popups. How do I remove this and keep it off?

Win32:Patched-AWK[trj] is a computer Trojan, targeting the Microsoft Windows operating system. It can be patched by a malicious application or certainly malware, adware, browser hijacker, etc. That is why victim is still bothered by browser locks and multiple ad popups when removing this Trojan.
